I will make recommendations what dog-personality would be the most compatible match, pro and cons of different breeds and what to be aware of when adopting a dog. I will not find you a breeder but will give advice how to detect a good breeder and what should be included in a good contract. This also includes information how to perform a mindful and sensible puppy aptitude test and questions you should ask if you want to adopt an older dog. Advice is given how to interpret subtle signals the dog gives you that might indicate future behavior problems. The second time we meet, again for one hour, will be when you are in the process of getting the pooch. Depending on the situation it might be a meeting at a humane society, or at a breeder. I will lend an objective and educated eye and observe the interaction between you, your family and the chosen one and point to possible red flags. If that is not possible, for example if the pup is flown in, you can book that hour whenever you need or want it. This is followed by another one-hour consultation in your home shortly after the new member has arrived to make sure the relationship begins on the right foot/paw. You will find out what commands are more important than others, when to begin training and the pros and cons of training schools.And of course, how to be the leader of your pack.
